Alexandra Ridout: BBC Young Musician of the Year, 2016

The above award, by far the most prestigious in the UK, was so justifiably won by Alex for her stunning, free-flowing improvising and the totally uncluttered, melodic direction of her playing. Despite the fact that she was competing in the final round with her older brother (the brilliant saxophonist, Tom Ridout), there was something extra special in her natural, organic musicianship that saw Alex to the top! Since then, she has been massively in demand and has already been touring on an international level (including performances in New York, Koln, Norway and Paris).

Alex also won the British Jazz Awards ‘Rising Star’ category, was named as one of ‘London’s Most Influential People under 25’ in 2018. Her outstanding playing has seen her headhunted to feature in Clark Tracey’s current quintet and to perform regularly with ECM artist, Kit Downes.

This promises to be an outstanding gig - that will sell out!
