Frank Williams With The Spin Quartet
Thursday 11th October 2018
AN EVENING OF TOWNSHIP, AFRICAN JAZZ GROOVES....
A pleasure to have Frank Williams come to the club. Frank made his name as a heavy duty tenor player, playing with his fellow South Africans in exile from the 1980s onwards. He was a fixture on the London jazz scene for many years - playing with the legendary Breakfast Band as well as leading his own African Jazz Quintet - and most recently has revived the legendary Brotherhood of Breath, Chris MacGregor's massively influential African jazz group, with which legendary ensemble, Frank made his name.
Joining Frank will be the wonderfully inventive Frank Harrison on piano, the endlessly groovy percussion maestro, Keith Fairbairn, stoking the fires with Raf and Mark. An evening of compelling South African grooves, stirring solos and more.
See you then.
