Julian Costello with The Spin Trio
Thursday 28th February 2019
'Julian Costello is a sax lyricist, telling stories of life's ups and downs... with strength, humour...' Jazz in Europe
Julian is an utterly distinctive saxophonist and composer, bringing a strong sense of melody and warmth to his compositions and playing. Best known for leading his quartet for over a decade now which features some of the finest musicians in Europe, Yuri Golubev, Macek Pysz and Adam Teixeira, Julian graduated from the jazz programme at Trinity College of Music where he was awarded a scholarship, and has gone on to tour and record ever since.
Julian also leads Vertigo, a band inspired by middle Eastern rhythms and melodies and the Perhaps Trio with guitarist Patrick Naylor and cellist Natalie Rosario.
An evening of great contemporary jazz grooves, and deeply tuneful music awaits you.
