Mark Lockheart & The Spin Band

Welcome to news of The Spin’s 1st gig at its 10th venue, post the pandemic: we bring our vivacious Spin fare to the Summertown Wine Bar on Tuesday, the 2nd April!

This will be different to other SWB music nights inasmuch as the venue will be dedicated exclusively to The Spin (so entry by ticket only, as per all other Spin gigs). The club will be presenting a top-drawer quartet, fronted by one of the most celebrated saxophonists in the UK: Mark Lockheart.

Lockheart was one of the founder members of the ground-breaking big band, Loose Tubes. Since then, he has led a diverse career, performing with such leading luminaries as Norma Winstone, John Pattitucci, Gwilym Simcock, June Tabor, Radiohead, Huw Warren and Thomas Dolby. With Lockheart and The Spin Band, an evening of engaging, scintillating, first-class fare is assured – but as this is a new venture, we’d like to give a little space to what the SWB has to offer! In a nutshell, the venue provides an intimate setting with a huge array of fabulous imbibements to select from:

- 30 wines by the glass
- over 300 wines in total- a selection of great beers and cocktails
- a wide variety of light bites perfectly designed to accompany a great glass of wine. From cheese and charcuterie boards to their signature Tarte Flambee

There is no surcharge on any of the above for the Spin’s night; in fact, prices at the SWB are super-competitive with any other hostelry in Oxford!
