The Last Outdoors Summer Gig with Time Is Of The Essence
Wednesday 8th September 2021
As it appears that we have just a few balmy evenings ahead, we are at the very last minute, offering an ‘end of summer’ outdoors concert at the Port Mahon, this Wednesday! This is a great ‘courtyard’ venue (as anybody that came to the Pandora gig last month will testify).
Please note earlier than usual time of performance. Tickets are limited to 50, but there is seating comfortably for this number. (tickets are non-placed, so it will be a ‘take your pick’ situation when you arrive).
The band, ‘Time Is Of The Essence’ played the first concert at TOAD at the beginning of August and was well over-subscribed…..so book early! In fact, there are only two days from announcing this, so book NOW!
Featuring the outstanding saxophonist Ollie Weston, the band performs original pieces ("finely honed, instantly appealing and right up there with any contemporary jazz writing…” ~ The Guardian) and fiesty fare by the likes of Steely Dan, John Scofield and Stevie Wonder.
The band’s collective CVs include recordings and performances with, among others, Mike Oldfield, Shirley Bassey, Nigel Kennedy, Barbara Thompson, Tom Jones, Bobby Wellins, Anita Wardell, Paul McCandles, John Etheridge…
We look forward very much to seeing you on Wednesday evening!
The band:
Ollie Weston: tenor & soprano saxophones
Pete Oxley: guitar
Martin Pickett: organ
Keith Fairbairn: drums
