We are delighted to welcome back the club’s most popular (and equally brilliant) trumpeter, Steve Waterman. It’s hard to know where to start in summarising Steve’s career, given the vast body of first-class work achieved.

Steve is an incredible musician; a trumpeter that reaches those parts iothers can only dream of!

Aside from being a formidible performer and bandleader, Steve has toured and recorded with such luminaries as Andy Sheppard, Victor Mendoza, John Surman and Carla Bley.

Our pleasure as always to welcome the supreme Damon Brown on trumpet. Damon's playing is steeped in the blues and bebop but always sounds utterly contemporary. A wonderful lyrical player, Damon has been a fixture on the national and international jazz scene for many years.

Mark Armstrong is one of the leading jazz/latin trumpet players in the UK; in addition to a fiendishly busy gig/touring schedule, he finds time to be Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music and Music Director of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra - neither of which is terribly surprising when you hear him play.

Martin Shaw is, as we say, the finished article, and one of the leading trumpet soloists in the UK. Martin gets heard everywhere from the BBC Big Band to the Proms via Jamiroquai and so on. A simply superb player and interpreter of the American songbook.

Steve has been a central figure in British jazz for many years, and without doubt one of the most exciting trumpeters in the biz.

It is a delight to welcome Italian trumpeter, Fulvio Sigurta to the club for the first time. A brilliant musician - Fulvio won a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, before coming to London and winning prizes galore at the Guildhall School of Music.

Byron Wallen is one of the foremost trumpeters in British jazz; studying with Peter Ruderforth in London and with Donald Byrd and Jon Faddis in New York in the mid to late 80s, Byron has gone on to tour and record with some of the most celebrated musicians of our time.

We welcome the incredible Damon Brown back to the club; his first appearance for several years and his returning to the UK from working the festival and club circuit in South East Asia for nearly a decade.

A superb trumpeter, Nick has been a leading player on the London jazz scene for many years. Known to festival audiences all over Europe for his playing as featured soloist with the James Taylor Quartet, Nick is also busy leading his own group, Trogon.

Regarded by many as the jazz trumpeter of the moment, Martin's chops have got him touring and recording with Cleo Laine, Sting, Jamiroquai, Michel Legrand, Pete King and the Brand New Heavies.

Byron Wallen is one of the most celebrated trumpeters in Europe; he has played with some of the greatest artists in jazz such as George Benson, Jack DeJohnette, Airto Moreira and Courtney Pine.

Steve Waterman is a brilliant trumpeter and needs little introduction to the Spin audience, being at the forefront of British jazz for over three decades; he continues to dazzle club and festival audiences up and down the country with this playing. Steve leads his own small groups and 18 piece big band, and has 8 albums to his name and as a sideman, Steve has worked with the likes of John Surman, Carla Bley, Andy Sheppard and Mal Waldron.
