Steve Waterman & The Spin Band (featuring Liam Dunachie)

Steve Waterman: trumpeter extraordinaire; a player with a ferocious technique and a consummate musicianship. Steve has been The Spin’s most popular trumpeter since his first visit to the club, many a year ago at ‘the old place’! 

If you are unfamiliar with Steve’s body of work, take a look at this brief synopsis:

- as a player, work with Carla Bley, Vince Mendoza, Andy Sheppard, John Surman etc. etc..

- as an educator, is currently visiting professor of jazz trumpet at Trinity College, London, Royal Northern College Of Music and the Welsh College of Music.

- as a composer, in addition to numerous commissions, Steve is one of only a handful of British composers to have pieces in the New European Real Book (Sher Music).

Backing Steve for this gig will be the house band of Pete Oxley on guitar (who, as it happens, is also one of that handful of British jazz composers to have works published in the aforementioned Real Book!), keyboard sensation Liam Dunachie and the ever-popular Rick Finlay on drums.
