Will Barry Quartet

Thursday 9th March 2023

The Spin is delighted to welcome one of the UK’s most outstanding ‘new jazz generation’ pianists, Will Barry, appearing at the club for the first time as a bandleader.

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2016, Will has become massively in demand from top-drawer players - of ‘new-stars’ and established jazz glitterati alike - performing all over the world with various ensembles. He is the pianist in the ever-popular Jasper Høiby’s group, ‘Fellow Creatures’ and was a mainstay accompanist for so many great players at Kansas Smitty’s during those barren lockdown months.

The quartet that Will is presenting for this gig also features the brilliant saxophonist, Julian Siegel (described by MOJO as “one of the UK’s most creative saxophonists”). Julian has won numerous awards (including ‘Best Instrumentalist’ in the BBC Jazz Awards) and has just finished touring with his incredible large ensemble, the ‘Julian Siegel Jazz Orchestra’; check this out:

This promises to be a stunning gig, performed by this all-star lineup:

Will Barry - keys

Julian Siegel - Tenor Sax

Ferg Ireland - Bass

Matt Skelton - Drums
